What is coronary plaque and why is it important?
Coronary plaque is a sticky buildup that can form inside the vessels that bring blood to your heart. It is made up of things like fat, cholesterol, calcium, and other substances. Over time, plaque can make these vessels narrower, which means less blood and oxygen may reach your heart. If blood flow becomes blocked, it can lead to a heart attack.
How does Cleerly help show plaque?
Cleerly uses pictures from a coronary CT angiogram, a special heart scan, to help show how much plaque is in your heart's arteries and what type of plaque it is. Your doctor can use this information to better understand your heart health, track changes over time, and see whether your plaque is becoming more stable.
How other tests measure heart health
